Have you heard of Waldorf education?

Rudolf Steiner in Europe developed Waldorf education in the 1920’s. It has been in North America for 75 years and currently having more than 500 Waldorf schools worldwide.

This education was based on the holistic view of a human being. It aims to incorporate the body, soul and spirit in the child’s intellectual, artistic, and spiritual development. They help the child to mold their sense of independence, wherein the child able to determine his own strength and weakness and use them creates the meaning for their own lives themselves.

Waldorf educational methods are diametrically opposed to those of the Austrian system that forms the basis for most public school systems.

In contrast of the Waldorf education, the Austrian system was aimed at producing compliant workers for the factories of the industrial revolution, and obedient soldiers for its battlefields. To take the idea lightly, it imposes that in contrast of independent function where it tell that subordinates always depends to heir higher colleagues.
